Anæsthesia is something that makes everybody nervous. For many of us, it’s not the fear of death that bothers us, although I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t present. No, it’s the fear of mockery that makes the thought of undergoing anæsthesia nearly unbearable.
But seriously, folks. In this case the dentist actually profits from his malpractise. Legally, it’s poor precedent, because it provides incentive for a dentist and his employee to conspire. I really do not understand the extra $750,000 awarded to the dentist.

Hmm I had heard of this story but didn’t pay attention till I read your entry. So I guess the dentist gets off and gets paid because technically the tusks were part of the real procedure in that they were temporary bridges that he shaped like tusks because of the patient/co-workers farm family background.
I’d say the doc is totally justified and I buy his account except for the fact he initially hid the pictures from the worker. If it were really just a light-hearted joke then the coworker should be the first person the pics were shown to.
This seems like clever lawyering after the fact. And of course human greed.
